Chainsaw in old fps games

Anyone else miss em? As well as double barrel shotguns. I loved using these in the old fps games. Stalker has a shotgun but doesnt feel the same as the one i think was in erm doom or quake or duke nukem (cant remember which one had em lol but one did).

I can understand the ratings not liking the chainsaw these days cos of the more realist gfx than what was used in the olden days but still they would be fun like in hl2 or somit for the enemy with things on the heads.

Great game. I still remember there was a cheat for all weapons and full ammo or somit began with a I or somit.

Gears had some type of chainsaw but wasnt a good one and i couldnt get it to work right lol.
 
I cant get into GOW, tried to, want to like it but I hate it. :(

Also Doom3+ expansion had Chainsaw plus the Double Barrel Shotgun and you could fire both barrels at same time.

IDDQD = GODLIKE
IDKFA = All wep+ammo
IDCLIP = walk thru walls
IDCLEV+level number (single numbers with leading zero) = level skip

bit sad but i still remeber them to this day LOL (i didnt just look these up)

doom was one of my 'all-timers' its one of the games that started me off on fps :D duke was *** too.... DNCORNHOLIO = godlike (still remember that too)

and i agree that the chain saw needs a comeback

Few years back when I was in college (2004), a few of us were discussing old computer games and a very hot blonde girl I knew said she remembered some of those Doom cheats. I was quite surprised. :D
 
i liked the gears of war idea were to chainsaw was built into as part of the weapon :D
cant play this game no more cuz it wont let me get to the loggin screen for some reason so i can never save :(
 
i used to like that pixelated but semi-realistic (at the time) 'spark n smoke' effect u got from sawing at a wall on doom, anyone else remember that :D
