Looking to get my son a new chair. I bought a Noble chair a few years back and we got him a cheap £60 'gaming' chair. To be fair his actually was more comfortable (the Noble is too hard for my liking !) but value for money rules and whilst mine is slightly worn his cheap chair is falling to pieces so a a new chair for Xmas is in order :)

He is 5' 8" and about 9 stone if that makes any difference.

Was waiting for Black Friday to see whatmay come up but does anyone have and recommendations for something around £150?

I know its not a gaming chair, but I work from home and play games at the same location and so can easily be in my seat for 10 hours in a day and I lovbe my Sihoo M57. Its a mesh seat and mesh back and is very comfortable. Its currently just about your price point (3rd google result - if you search sihoo m57).

Plus one on the Sihoo Chair, I have one and even got the wife one for working from home, and now her colleagues want them too.

This, got one for my gaming room and it’s incredible comfortable and flexible. Wait until there’s the inevitable price drop and you’ll pick up one in or near to budget. Much better value than any gimmicky gaming chair.

How is he cushioning on the chair, will I need a cushion like I have with both my Ikea ones previously? lol

No cushion needed.

Ikea Marcus
I like my Ikea Markus but I found that the fixed non-adjustable armrests and the design prevent me sitting close enough to the keyboard to use it at a computer desk. I've removed the armrests so it's fine as a computer chair now however they screw into the base cushion at the side (leaving a hole in the fabric where the metal screw threads poke out of) so it looks a bit crappy aesthetically without them.

If I were buying again I'd probably try the Jarfallet chair others have suggetested as it has adjustable armrests and they connect under the base so it won't look rubbish without them.

I had the grey Markus for afew years, then got the JÄRVFJÄLLET (Aug 2021) in white which turns yellow after a year or so (the back mesh turns a horrible colour so needs wiping/clean once in awhile too). Both I needed to buy a cushion for after while as the padding in the seat just is non-existent. Also both started to squeek which needs some white grease applying to make it stop.

I am looking to replace it now with a Sihoo C300, SitPro, Hbada E3 Pro or similar. (these are not really gaming chairs and more than 150 quid lol)

I also bought the new Markus as I still have the older version and still good. But the new ones are absolute garbage, and likes yours my white ones started going off colour in a very short space of time, and the cushion become very sore to sit on for any length of time, plus that awful rubber grippy stuff they put on the arms now.
