This one had a silient death, dad came back from hols came back on and its gone. No power. Not even any funny smells. The light on the back comes on but no fans.

I need to get a replacement ASAP, its for a AMD64, with 1 6800 GS o/c, 1 hdd, 1 dvdrw, and just 2 x 120 fans.

I m thinking I should be able to get something like a

Tagan TG480-U01 480W ATX2.0 SLi Compliant Silent

It should be enough!

I am very disappointed with the hypers and its certainly wierd for it to die in this way with no bang!

Could someone tell me when I send the old one back, do I send all the connectors or just the ones that are attached to it, or should i just send the bare PSU..

Since many have gone wrong does anyone know what there RMA service is like?

i have posted 2 reviews on the site about these being potentially unreliable, neither of which were put on the reviews, only quite good reviews must be 'acceptable'

while i waited for a replacement i bought a corsair 620w, no regrets

You've noticed that too? I never pick anything now based on the amount of stars it has on OCUK, it's back to the old method of finding independent objective reviews on other sites.
