just picked this up from work gonna install now

(never played any of the newer champ man games so ill give my opinion in an hour)
 
It's getting better with each release and is still a lot quicker that FM. The demos for both are available.

The GUI still looks outdated though.
 
I've always played FM over CM, but apparently this new version is quite good. Maybe people should actually play it before immediatly dismissing it and proclaiming FM as the greatest game ever.

At least CM seems to be progressing, FM has been the same for a few versions now, every year it's like 'Now with scouting that works!' 'Training isn't utterly boring and pointless this time!!!!'. One of the problems I have with FM is the terrible media interaction, you have seen it all after about 6months game time, and if you do something amazing, like win the WC, you get 1 or 2 text messages saying how the FA are proud of you and the fans love you. It can take literally months of real time (actually sitting in front of the computer) to get from managing a non-league club to winning the WC with england, and I want something abit more dramatic than 2 bloody text messages when i do it god dammmitt!!!!!!!!!!! :mad:

If it ain't broke don't fix it though right? ;)

FM does a great job every year and transgression and minor evoultion rather than revolution, whereas the new CM games (non-SI Games versions) are just inferior, I believe it's the same company that used to do the old Player Manager games on PC/Amiga and once the old Champ Man's got onto the market the Player Manager series died a quick and quiet death.

The only reason anyone buys the CM games is the brand, same as why people buy Fifa Games from EA because they got it outstanding right for the first version (original Fifa International Soccer) and have been in the shadow of ISS/PES ever since.
 
well after 7hours of CM ive decided its too damn easy! i beat chelsea with liverpool 5-0 in the charity shield i mean c'mon...we all want it too happen but it just dont :D
 
Played the demo yesterday because some people said it was better than previous efforts but i still think its not in the same league as footy manager pun intended :D , i hate the skin for a start and couldnt sit playing it for hours like i do FM , the layout of the stats when a game is played isnt the best , i did like the overhead view of the pitch and it played smooth enough .
 
Just downloaded and installed this so I can see how wide the gulf between FM and CM07 is this year. Course I run the thing, get to the main page and the game minimizes itself back into Windows and every time I click on it, the game re-appears before going back to Windows.:confused:

Any idea why? I've just scanned the CM07 site and forum and found nothing.
