Well after exhausive searching today the average ticket would appear to be around the £1,000 mark. Easyjet are after £500 or so for flights. Eurostar I think want £350 CRAZYNESS.

I know there are a few gooners on here, have you had any luck?

We've sorted our travel out coz if nothing else I want to be part of the atmosphere. For anyone else we're doing this route

Here is the criteria for the trip:

"17/05/06

Train from London Victoria to Calais Our Ferry Leaves Dover to Calais at 10am (UK TIME) and arrives at Calais 12.20pm (French Time)

From Calais we have to catch a Train to Paris which should take around 1h45m

18/05/06

Calais to Dover: Leave Calais at 07.20am (French Time) arrive in Dover at 07.35am (UKTIME)

After that it’s a straight run to work.

About £55 - £80 which is a bargain in my opinion.

Am looking into the times for trains from Calais to Paris and vise versa but nothing at the moment, will keep you informed."

If anyone can hook me up with an avenue for tickets please email me (email in trust). Be good too hook up with any other gooners for a bit of a train trip. Think there are 4 of us!

I booked my flights to Paris after the Juv first leg. At the cheap prices back then it didn't matter if we didn't qualify (I always had faith ;) ).

I'd check out flights to Brussells and get the train to Paris. A lot of Irish Gunners I know are doing this to aviod the mad prices to fly direct.

All I need is a ticket now!

It might be worth considering flights to Lyon, then getting a taxi to the City, there are plenty of trains to Paris from either of Lyons stations, either PartDieu or Perrache. Lyon airport isnt the biggest, but flights there are usually quite affordable.

Another option would be to fly to somewhere out of France, to a place that has direct trains to Paris. Like Milan/Turin or Brussells (as said by someone else).

Not planning on sleeping then? :p

Ferries do seem like the only option really. Hull -> London -> Dover -> Calais -> Paris will probably be my route, hopefully won't actually be much more than yours in price. I checked Eurostar the night before and saw £150 and thought "Oh, that's a bit, but it's not too much. Oh no wait, that's a single!" :o

EDIT: Now, the trick is for me to convince at least one of my housemates to come along with me, so I'm not lonely. But they work full-time and it would require two days off from here. Hmmm, time for some plotting.

:D :D :D

All booked and sorted this way!!! Jeez Im excited !

Getting the ferry pretty early I think its booked for 7ish (mate sorted it)
Also sorted out the hotel for the evening, think it was about £30 each or so.

Tickets sorted aswell :D

This really will be a fantastic night - win or lose I mean get to watch the gunners play barcelona in the champions league final in paris!!!! How often does that happen??? lol

May be worth looking at a package holiday and going a few days earlier. I know a lot of Liverpool fans done that last year.

If I can get the dosh together, which is very doubtful at the moment, and I get a ticket, I'll probably go the Travel Club route, by coach or Eurostar, probably the safest option really.
