champions league draw

Oh well, at least we get to see a game vs Barcelona again, it was a fantastic spectacle last year and one I enjoyed despite getting battered, it's not often your team gets to play the greatest side of all time, I suppose you enjoy it while it lasts.

All the other 3 English sides should progress with ease, so hopefully giving Arsenal a mini advantage in the league

Oh goody, trying to keep our best players, we're going to get embarassed on a massive scale against the best team in the world, yay. Fabregas will be oh so happy, I can see it how, Fabregas rushed back from hamstring injury to face Barca, we get battered 5-0 at home, Fabregas limps off after breaking his leg from putting his all in to try and actually win an important game. Then Barca will put in an offer with their 120mil shirt sponsorship money, will Fabregas and RVP fall for another close season of Wenger begging them to stay and promising to spend/win something next year?

tbh I don't think Arsenal will get embarrassed as bad as Real did (I hope), at least we scored in both games last season

Ermmm with our defence the way it is...i fully expect us to get completely and utterly battered by Barca....but funnily enough im not bothered either way as i love Barca myself...id love to see Arsenal beat Barca but based on our squad at the moment??..it just aint gonna happen bar a miracle.

The one thing i do hope happens is that it gives Wenger a good kick up his french backside and sort our squad out for next season ie buy some world class players for a start instead of these unknown/untested youngsters.

Last season Silvestre played against Messi at the Nou Camp, as dodgy as Kos and Squillaci have been it can't be worse than that.

Also, Vermaelen might be back in January :)

Depends who we play to be honest, Bendtner was OUTSTANDING in both games, scoring and setting up goals, holding up the ball the few times he got it.

IF we play Chamakh on his currently can't be bothered form and Nasri continues to look as bad as Theo Walcott outside the box and, we had Vermaelen/gallas and Verm/Silvestre last year, this year, Djourou or Koscielny and Squillaci.

Ok, it was away at the Nou Camp but Gallas/Verm for the large majority of the game, 2-2, Vermaelen/Silvestre 4-1, considering Wenger still claims not to know when he'll be back or what the real problem is with Vermaelen(or Fabregas for that matter) and considering our home form this year vs the past 5 years, and our away Euro form, we haven't got a chance in hell.

Well, no he didn't play, and Campbell looked WAY better than Koscielny when he did play last year, he dominated teams last year, in the air, running out and demolishing players with insane, but well timed tackles, strikers were scared to go near him, can't say the same for Koscielny. Silvestre however, was a joke, but I don't think Koscielny is much better and Djourou, he's got the reaction times and pace that can make Heskey look young and agile.

Assuming Verm is still out, as his week long injury at the start of the season is now till Jan at least with no due date back at all, then we can't put out anything close to the defensive pair we did last year in either game.

True and i can only hope the Verminator is back by Jan time as we are definitely missing him in the back 4.

Lets see what happens...as much as i love Barca, id really like to see Arsenal pull a major surprise out of the bag and beat Barca...who knows a miracle might just happen ie Walcott might bag 5 goals:p

Arsenal to win home tie 2-1. Barcelona win away tie. 1-0. (Would take it to penalties right?)

Arsenal win on Penalties. 5-3. Two magnificent saves from Fabianski.

And don't forget, Sagna is suspended for first game against Barcelona so Eboue will have to start. Noooooooooooooooo!!

Eboue is pile of poo!!!!

I think it'll be closer than most think, depending on RvP, Cesc and Vermaelen's fitness.

5 - 3 to Barca on agg
