Champions Online

I'm glad of the patch, has balanced it more.

Passive healing/defensive buffs were way overpowered.

I chose a single blade character and I'm finding it way underpowered considering what I have to do to get attacks in, hopefully get buffed up.

@Kiras

people are complaining they cant kill arch villains (well whjat ever there called) solo any more...sort of moots the point of mmorpg if you can do all the content solo dosnt it ??
i hope it dosnt go to far that way though, nothing worse than plugging away at a AV for half an hour as per CoH, people are comparing it to CoH now, instead of CoH at launch..give it 6 months to year and this game will be great, no mmorpg starts off perfect but this has potential.

I am still finding it somewhat confusing as to what to stat and if stats have any impact on the damage your powers do. Really enjoying it though. I found power armour to be a bit "meh" until I worked out that you can have all your attack powers going at once and now it does an ungodly amount of damage. Archery was a bit irritating due to its lack of range (50' is far too small!) but I can see why for balance purposes. And my munitions character now has two flintlocks rather than magnums which is nice.

I am enjoying it, though there is still plenty of room for improvement and I can see someone coming just from City of Heroes to be very confused! Made me rather nostalgic when I made my first bag.

I'm currently so drawn towards making a gadgeteering character modelled on like a steampunk, think arcanum :D

But I reckon it will be VASTLY underpowered as it seems to be a support / healing type class when I want it mainly offence :D

Think I will definitely have to just stick to it as I love the idea, especially with jet boots :D.

If only the servers would come up...

Try Orbital Beam, Gun Drones, and Healing Bots ;)

Did love the look of the attack drones, either follow or turrets :D.

Can't wait wish the bloody servers would come up. Got a perfect image of what I want my character to look like but its if the game can do it :D.

Steam punk girl, short, 1900's clothing, top hat, goggles etc :d with any other accessories I can find.

im tempted to buy Champions online looks really good, however i also plan to buy Aion when its released which will be two monthy fees then, hmm decisions.

Im guessing the subscription is around £8-9 ?

im going gunslinger/gadgeteer with a bit of power armour thrown in, for my first toon, probably a blaster type for my second :)

So is any one playing now the game has gone live? i was thinking of picking it up, but i don't want a CoH wannabe!

Level 33, having lots of fun. I think if you buy it on the cheap somewhere, and play every day, you could probably do all the PvE content by the end of the included free month, but if you wanted to do PvP and farm Epic gear you'd have to keep on subscribing.

Is there insatnces like WoW etc with bad ass bosses at the end that drop epic gears?

As you level there are missions that suggest 2 or 5 players. The 5 ones are more like raids with multiple floors, but none go on for as long as something in WoW. There are supposed to be even bigger ones and repeatable, daily Epic loot missions at the level cap, but I've yet to get there.

Traipsing around the zones are Legendary and Cosmic enemies that require up to 20 players to kill, and then there are Open Missions which are segments of the world where specific events occur every hour. For example, one in the city spawns a 50 foot robot that you have to kill. Everyone is awarded loot based on their performance (there is a score table at the end), but the person on top has a chance of getting a piece of Epic gear. Failing that, something fairly tasty.

Level 40+ stuff, including a raise to level 50 will likely arrive before Christmas, and this October there'll be a Blood Moon event with werewolves and other associated stuff.

With regards to those daily missions, you'll need to do those to collect UNITY tokens that you turn in for the best gear (you can craft your own comparable stuff if you have a shed load of components and the required skills). Similarly, PVP awards a different type of token that can also be turned in for equally good gear.

Much like the public quests in WaR then?
