Championship Manager 01/02 on XP

Hello,

To keep things short, I want to play Championship Manager 01/02 on XP - Why? Because it's the best football manager game ever made...of course.

Anyway, when you try to play it on XP you get a message saying to make sure some service pack or other is installed - I can't really remember now but something stupid that can't be got around.

I have played it on XP before (a good few years ago) - via the "Program Compatiability Wizard" first - now I have tried most of the settings that I can - but the game still won't work.

Any suggestions? I have googled this issue more times than I have "Britney Spears" and nowhere else seems to have a suggestion on it - although I do know it is possible.

Have you got CM 01/02 patched up to the latest version?

I always found CM 01/02 far too easy, FM 2006 is much better in this regard.

I never thought of patches - possibly a very good call there.

I don't have the disc on me at the moment - but thought it would be good to get a solution to it - will try that when I can.

I find FM 2006 too difficult - FM 2005 is a much better game, in my opinion.
