There was a girl (fit and legal I hope!) in a tight green t-shirt?! I cringe when I see people picking CM off the shelf in a shop especially when FM is near by and normally a bit cheaper too.

Well the first time i did an elegant little speech of the relationship between SI, Eidos and Championship Manager, 'The Golden Days' and the state of play now. But its quickly boiled down to "Nooooo, you noob!" now 
Another thread revival!
Downloaded the demo last night and whilst it's definitely not up to the standards of FM08 I found it quite enjoyable.
Seems easier than FM but it runs an awful lot quicker - managed to do in 3 hours last night what would have taken a full day on FM!
Not a big fan of the 3d pitch, bit too gimicky for my liking. Also found the layout of the interface hard to use however I think it's just because I'm so familiar with the FM layout.
All in all a decent game but it will be ditched as soon as the demo for FM09 comes out.

I keep trying to get into FM08 and like someone said above, it's oddly sterile and off-putting to me. The last one I really played was 06 (I think), and more recently I found an old copy of CM 03/04 (the last SI & Eidos version), so the effort of re-learning the new layout always seems to much for me.
Plus CM 03/04 is ridiculously easy. My currant game is third division/league two to the Prem in three seasons, winning each division, with the lower league trophy on the way, and barely changing the squad as I go. I mean, I actually lose games in FM08! Disgraceful.

On management games if you lose can't you just load it back up and try again ?

11 games into the demo and I've already racked up 22 yellows and 6 reds :/
5 of my 9 defenders are suspended for the next game! Even if I set my team to kill the opposition they wouldn't pick up that many. Ridiculous.
edit: make that 29 and 9 after 13 games!
