Chances of getting an Accelero II Plus on a 980ti?

Hi all,

Just acquired a 980ti with the blower design cooler. I have no idea how good this cooler is, but I do happened to have an Accelero II Plus cooler laying around, and I'm fairly sure that would be better if I could get it on there. What do you think the chances of that are (perhaps with a bit of easy modding)? Can the reference 980ti overclock decently?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it did fit straight on - no modding necessary. I used the small spacers for anyone interested. This is the heatsink configuration that I used:

Would have liked to have used the long heatsinks all across but didn't have enough.

I wanted to use thermal tape but found that it wasn't sticking reliably enough, and I don't want heatsinks falling off inside the case without me knowing causing the card to overheat and die, so I used thermal glue in the end.

The card was hitting 86C, getting quite noisy and throttling before. Now, at the same settings, it's in the low 60s, not throttling and virtually silent. If I put it on 100% fan it's still quieter than the blower cooler at load, and it's in the low 50s then.

Couple of questions:

1) How worried should I be about the thermal glue fracturing over time due to thermal expansion/contraction?

2) To the touch, the heatsinks on the RAM feel about 65-70C, while the ones on the VRMs feel about 75-80C. Is there any way to monitor them more precisely?

3) I'd like to add a little more TDP to allow some more overclocking and prevent TDP throttling. Is there a good guide on how to do this for the reference card? I'm aware probably a new BIOS may be involved :S
