Hi people, I am trying to see if I can change the thermal paste and pads on my 3080, as well as add some to the back of the PCB. The card works fine, I just want to see what I can improve on it. Does anyone know if this voids the warranty here in the UK? I read in the US it doesnt, but cant find an answer for UK customers. Thanks.

Well I tried their forum and so far no answer. Last tine I contacted their CS over something they took a few days to reply. Anyways I just finished finding out that it doesnt void the warranty as long as I dont damage anything in the process which is fine as its not the first time I open a GPU.

In Reddit someone had a screenshot from EVGA FAQs, and also found links to the EVGA foruns where people had asked the question before.
I looked it up and on their FAQs they allow you to install 3rd party cooling solutions without voiding warranty as long as you dont damage anything and keep the original one. Changing pads and/or the paste is part of this process even if you re-install the same one back on.

Do you really need to change the paste/pads? I recently bought a 3090 EVGA FTW3 ULTRA and the temps are better than expected... The backplate is too hot to touch which suggests the pads are doing their job. Mining the VRAM never went above 92C originally and I've managed to bring that down to 84C with some small aluminium heatsinks placed on the backplate and a USB desk fan to cool the heatsinks. I would assume the 3080 runs even cooler given it only has VRAM on one side of the PCB?
FYI - I only purchased mine two weeks ago so maybe EVGA has since revised the design to include more thermal pads so they don't get loads of RMA's from people cooking their cards while mining.

From what I read it does help, mainly because the 3080 doesnt have thermal pads on the back of the PCB. I did it yesterday and everything is running fine, and temps are great.
@Nghtmare I am also looking to change the thermal pads on my 3080 EVGA FTW3 ULTRA because its memory junction is running at 110 deg C. Could you please confirm the dimensions of the thermal pads as listed and if I need all 10 thermal pads? I believe "BP Pads" means backplate but am not certain
