So google-fu is failing me today.

In my games room, I currently have a bayonet fitting handing from the ceiling pretty standard, what I want to do is change the fitting to a E27, now I know I can get converters but I don't want a converter, I just want to replace the fitting at the end of the cable over to e27.

Anyone know where I can get one from, I had a look on Screwfix etc but couldn not find it as a stand alone item.

Thanks

Kimbie

You're looking for a "Cord Grip Lampholder" I think.

Considering it's £1 for that or £2 to replace the entire pendant light fitting I'd probably just replace the light fitting - makes the whole thing look like new at the same time.

Just buy a new ceiling rose and fit it to the ceiling. Costs about 3quid and will take 40 mins for a newbie (just following the old wires?)

Only I have not found a new ceiling rose that is E27 they all seem to be BC fittings.

Also Ikea is expensive oh so very expensive...you go in to get just one thing next thing you know your other half has you pushing a trolley loaded with stuff you don't need arggh

Ah I see the issue, surely eBay/amazon has them?

Are E27 screw caps old tech? The Mrs informed me I was "old fashioned" for buying bayonet caps... But I basically bought the first thing available.

I would have thought bayonet fittings are more suitable for suspended fittings as the bulb can't drop out if it works loose. Why do you want to put an E27 up there anyway?
