Hi all,

Hoping there might be a few knowledgeable people in here who have decking and lights in their gardens.

We moved into our new house about 6 weeks ago, and as part of stripping back the decking and repainting etc we decided to replace a few of the bulbs (or so i thought) that werent lighting up at night - however on inspection it seems that these are entirely sealed units:

There is a black box under the decking nearest to the house (transformer?) that it appears these cables connect into, so my suspicion is that the bulb/unit/cable is a fixed item that has to be replaced in its entirity, as it plugs straight into the box.

Has anyone ever replaced things like this before? Any advice on where to source a replacement and how to go about doing it?

TIA,
Sam

I can't see the image, but it sounds like the set of mini-LEDs I installed in my decking. They're sealed units that connect to a box, which in turn connects to a power-brick plugged into the garage.

And yes, they can't be repaired and it would probably be cheaper to buy a new set even if they could.

They probably just some 12v jobbies check the transformer out. If so just get another set of lights that you like. Screwfix has some on offer at the moment. Chop the ends off and splice them in. Get some heat shrink on so they are weather tight and jobs a good un. Obviously do this if the cable runs are a bit awkward if not just replace the lot.
