hello

For some reason I have been thinking of getting rid of my ATI 7990 and get something else for example a 290X. Would there be any benefits to do so?

Ive heard that single GPU cards are better as they cause less issues.

I only have the one 1080p monitor just now and may buy another in the future.
Need to also think of cooling in a Fractal design R5.

7990 so far has maxed at 79c . I currently haven't loaded the case with fans as of yet.

specs

AMD 8350
Asus crosshair V formula Z
corsair 750w PSU
8GB Hyper Savage
Fractal Design R5

I'd stick to what you have right now unless you want to reduce power consumption. At which point I would consider a 970 for hassle free gaming (if Crossfire is giving you any).

7990 not the fastest card in the world, I would think it on par with a 290/290x
But there just not worth getting. Wait for the new line of gpu's to come out before changing.

Remember your 7990 hit 79c my 290 did 85c just with a DVD and 94c on every game

You're right, it's only the third fastest :)
