Change Gmail primary address?

Is there a way to change Gmails primary address you initially signed up with? I.E can i change from [email protected] to [email protected]

Also a few years ago I was sure there was a premium google service which gave you more space and allowed you to use your own domain. I know you can add additional address to gmail and forward your custom domain to it, but I thought there was a better way of doing this?

you can set up your primary gmail so it grabs the secondary mail using pop3.

It's in settings>accounts and imports, you also need to enable it on your secondary gmail.
