So I've got a slightly strange problem with a folder in WinXP and am hoping that someone can help.

The back ground to the problem is that I was just trying to copy files from a broken laptop harddisc on to a desktop machine. I created a folder on the d: drive of the desktop called laptopRecovery. Then using xcopy I started to copy the entire contents of the laptop harddisk accross. Now unfortunatly the laptop disk seems to have failed during this process, I started getting delayed write errors then the disk stopped being recognised. Still I did manage to get quite a bit of the data.

Now this is the odd thing. The folder laptopRecovery has changed to be a 'hidden system directory', as has everything in it. How can I change it back to be a normal directory? This would seem to be easy, if I go to properties there is a tick box in attributes called 'hidden', it's ticked but I can't untick it. I'm logged on as an administrator. What's going on?
