Change HW max temp?

Does anyone, or should I, remove max CPU temp protect on my P5W DH board?
I need to run 1.5v vcore to get stable 390FSB clock but running orthos it hits about 45c then board cuts out, due I guess to overheat protect on board!
I am checking temps with Speedfan to get accurate picture.
I notice other people here saying fine to run up to about 50c, but do they remove or change this board setting?

Can you not just change the temp that it cuts out at?

I never noticed any heat protection on the P5WDH. Sometimes the PC would reboot when you have an unstable overclock.
