Well since this is going to be a role call for rubbish graphics cards, how about 3dfx?

3dfx were amazing in the beginning. I bought one (at a rather silly price) when the only thing that used it was the Wizard's Tower demo that came with the card. I rang a friend who came round, gawped at the demo and went straight out to buy a card. It's hard to get across just how radical an improvement 3dfx brought to the PC graphics market.

Probably one of my fav threads on GD these. I had one happen to myself!

Not the only one - seeing Quake 2 on a Voodoo I went out and spent loads on upgrading... at high street prices... :S
