Change programmes

I am sure somebody on GD will know this.

One of the questions on an application form i am filling in is

Criterion 3 Leading and managing teams through change programmes.

In layman's terms what is a change programme (i have googled it)?

Once I get a good understanding what a change programme is I can relate it to my past work experience.

somebody decides to change a way of working,
staff need hand holding in case they panic over the changes

say, your company was taken over and you had to adapt to the new idiots way of doing stuff.

another stupid management buzzword for doing your job really

we have a "change consultant" at our place. yeah basically means implementing new ways of working and helping people adapt.
