Change PS2 to component output

Hi Everyone

I have a Playstation 2 which I can only connect to my tv via a component output. The problem is the PS2 defaults to composite output so I get no signal on my TV by default. Normally I know I would have to connect it to a TV using a composite connection, change the settings, and then reconnect using the component tables. However in the absense of another TV, is there any other way to change the output signal type to component?

Really hoping someone will have a magic fix for me, don't really want to have to find another TV to use just for this.

Thanks in advance!

You'll have to check the options out, turn on the PS2 without a game in. Not quite sure but some of the settings you'll be able to change to component it'll be something like ybr or something.

your basically goona have to find a walkthrough that will tell you what buttons to push ... whiel blind .....it can be done ... and must be a topic somewhere on the web about it

I have a ps2 setup on my tv.

Switch the console on making sure there is no disc in the tray.

After a minute or so press down once on the D pad and then press X

Then press down 3 times on the D pad and this should be the Component/RGB setting menu.

Press X to enter this menu and then press the D pad once to the Right and then press X again. This should change the output type.
