on my dads computer he used to use freeserve dial-up many years ago and for some reason when using IE i beleive 6, (its winXP home) the title bar bit is called the websites bit, then at the end it still says, microsoft internet explorer provided by freeserve. Is there a way to get rid of this?

It's a registry settings somewhere. If you open regedit and search for the string 'provided by Freeserve', you'll find it. It's probably there twice, as it'll be in Outlook Express too.

There maybe a freeserve logo too - when you find the string, look around for a key called 'SmallBitmap' and 'LargeBitmap' or similar. Deleting the keys will remove them.

As always, backup the registry beforehand.

EDIT: a quick google turned this up, which is slightly more specific than my waffle:
