or you could download audacity, install the lame.dll file and bobs ya uncle... a totally free solution but more of a faff.

i'd use lame codec, and if i were you, i'd do it through Audacity (freeware) as hybrid suggests.

I've used an old program called CDex in the past. Same program i use to create mp3's for my phone from my cd's

I used to use CDex however more and more often it crashed after just completing 1 song, even after many reinstalls it would still do it so i just gave up with it
