I just finished modifying and installing a remote controlled lighting system for my Fractal Designs Midi R2 case. I think its a bit different to be able to change the color with a remote. The flashing mode is annoying but I really like the blend mode. Is it just me that thinks this is cool ? It takes a bit of soldering, and modifying. The basic kits you get won't remember the last color if you switch the computer off (which gets really annoying after a while!) - but I sorted that ;) Also the power input needs to be soldered to a molnex connector. Also you need thermal tape, as the standard adhesive softens with the heat in the computer - and it drops off. I may sell some kits on ebay (totally plug and play with molnex connector wiring / thermal tape etc.) for £20 inc remote - totally plug and play. What do people think, thumbs up or down ?

No not really. When its all modded you just plug it into a molnex, and stick it on. Its took me a while to get it it working good though. It actually has 60 LED's in there ! (on a strip)

I have a similar thing in my keyboard. It was originally powered by a 12v wall adaptor but I since hooked it up to my PC power supply via a Molex so it switches off with my PC. They are a little cheaper than I paid a couple of years ago too.
