My Old case served me well. It was an Akasa Eclipse 62 filled with water cooling goodies. (see the for sale section on the MM)

After a year or so I got bored with the caes and with the water cooling set up and wanted a change.

The wife gave me the OK for a new case and CPU cooler, game on!

After a few days of reading reviews and searching web sites for decent prices, I settled on the Zalman GT1000 case and Thermalright True Black cooler.

All arrived today as planned. I put it together today and all is working as I type.

Initial thoughts.

The case is an engineering dream. Aluminium everywhere, all the panels are thick, well finished and beautifully assembled.

The pre installed fans are striking in more ways than one. Very colourful whilst shifting huge amounts of air, but very noisy and to be honest let the case down badly even when linked with a fan controller and the voltage reduced.

The True Black is teamed up with a Scythe S-Flex 1200 fan and is fantastic. Out of the box the cpu contact area of the cooler was all over the place. An hour later, and the base of the cooler was lapped and flat. Temps are a few degrees up on the previous water cooling set up but in fairness not much.

I will be replacing the stock fans as soon as my next OcUK order is delivered and will report back.

In summary. The case is fantastic but the stock fans are cr_p. The cpu cooler is fantastic but required an hour of lapping prior to use.

Any Questions about the new set up please post and I will endeavour to respond.

Matt

Couldnt agree more m8. Its one of the (if not THE) best cases Ive ever worked with - although I did fall out with the side panels on more than one occassion. It just oozes quality through and through.

Now if only they'd answer my prayers and release a slightly bigger version!
