Hello guys.

Changed my mobo from an Asus x58 to an Asus P8P67 board. Been trying to install Ubuntu but it's just not working. Using the same images that I used with the old motherboard.

The first time I installed it, I kept getting dozens of errors and couldn't install any programs (via Software Center or CLI). Tried reinstalling about 10 times and most of the time I couldn't even boot into Ubuntu.

Using an 8GB USB stick to install it, trying to install it onto an SSD.

I read somewhere that there can be problems with newer motherboards because of UEFI. Came across this: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UEFI

I've tried following it but haven't had much luck. I can't find quickboot/fastboot, Intel SRT or FastStartup in the BIOS. When I load the USB stick it does say that SecureBoot is disabled.

Any ideas? Sorry I can't be more specific about the problems at the moment. They seem to change pretty much every time I try to install the OS. I've tried using 11.10, 12.04 and 12.04.2 all 32 bit versions. Also tried 12.10 64 bit version. Different results every time. Most of the time when I do manage to get it to install, after I reboot the machine I just get a blank screen with a flashing underscore.

Cheers. :)
