Changes coming to Amazon Prime

Certainly v. sneaky. Granted, a Virgin Media letter (in advance) saying that my bill will go up by 50p - I can live with that. However, with such a hike for Prime, even it if does package in extra services, I strongly feel that a consent box should be presented and ticked by the customer before the hike is implemented. I can already see the impending ****storm that Amazon's CS dept will have the pleasure to 'experience' :-)

£79 is now a bit expensive and don't really want the streaming service but over the year I would think the saturday delivery alone would cost more than £100.

I do wish they offer the streaming service as an upgrade price with discount if you are a Prime member, as opposed to mandatory.

I was happy paying £50 for prime, the amount of bits i have to order in for clients and myself its always nice next day. Good that they deliver on Sundays now. Not sure i can warrant £80 for it, i have no need for love film.

Hopefully it will go towards the drones.
 
Only just renewed, myself, so got a year before price hike. Depending on the titles on offer on the streaming service, I may renew. Love the general Prime service, including the Kindle lending library etc. so I'm keen to like this already.

Over Christmas Amazon kept sending things to me via Royal Mail right in the middle of the Christmas post.

Ended up with 4 extra months thanks to that.

But none of that is guaranteed.

Order something cheap, it is not guaranteed to be there next day. Granted, a lot of the times I wait until Friday to order so I get it Saturday. Ordering something on Friday is not guarantee saturday delivery without Prime.

1 - You are not guaranteed it'll be sent out on Friday
2 - It can go normal post, actually if it goes normal post you are likely to get it Saturday
3 - if it goes courier then it's likely not saturday delivery.

Prime pretty much guarantee saturday delivery.

You also said you only use Amazon when its the cheapest. I use Amazon 99% of the time, sometimes its not the cheapest, because of the CS. Stuff like sending things to my work address instead of billing is a reason for me to use Amazon. Those has nothing to do with being a Prime member as you original post was referring to using Amazon almost as a last resort.
 
It was always on the cards, Amazon just needed to get their ducks in the row with the streaming system. I probably won't use the streaming so I'll just have to decide between now and November if its still worth it, it probably is given the amount I order from Amazon and the convenience
 
My experience of Amazon before using prime, well free delivery used to take 4 - 5 days frequently. I would basically just go else where because delivery was so slow. Someone else invited me to prime (he gets it paid for via work) and I've used it quite a lot since November. Next day delivery is really handy, as is Saturday delivery at no extra cost. Not sure I would pay £79 for it. I don't think I use it quite enough to make it worthwhile.

How do watch Amazon Prime on your Smart TV (as advertised on their site) when there isn't an Amazon app available ? (Samsung TV)
Use the TV web browser to log on ?

Wait 1hr07mins when all will be revealed. I wouldn't expect every device to be supported though.

Or if you haven't signed up, make sure you do, you get 30days free and if you don't cancel its charged at £49

Last week I ordered something at 2.30pm Sunday (when I signed up to the free trial) and it was on the doorstep at 12.30pm Monday. 22hr delivery - I was stunned tbh.
 
I used the trial and made sure to switch off the auto payment once the trial is done, or so I thought.

Got the same email last night and cacked myself! :p

Swiftly logged in, fortunately it is just seemingly automated and I did indeed cancel it!
