Changes coming to Amazon Prime

Anyone had the chance to use 2 hour delivery? Theres a smaller selection of amazon things you can see through the prime now app that can currently be delivered in 2 hours.

I've ordered Booze, PS4 games and a couple of hard drives, all within a 2 hour time slow.

It should soon reduce to 1 hour, once they get everything in check.

Anyone else used it?

I know Phate has done it last week.

There's nothing in my inbox or junk mail and nothing in my account on amazon either. They have agreed to refund me though so they must know they were trying it on otherwise they'd have just said tough luck.

Indeed, legally speaking they don't have a leg to stand on, it's pretty unbelievable they would actually try this scam, they must have some cojones.

Amazon are really desperate to push prime on us by hiring the top gear trio. I'd rather have a jalfrezi enema than sign up for this ripoff service. The only way they have been getting customers is by tricking people into it.

The Amount i use prime and the amount avaliable for it, i would pay more than the 79.99 a year.

Next day delivery all a whole load of items
Music steaming/download
2 Hour delivery on a smaller catalog of items, which will eventually reduce to 1 hour.
Movie/TV streaming
Able to share 1 prime account between 5 people.

I buy a load from amazon and i guess thats what makes and breaks it. I was reluctant with the price hike when films were introduced, but i think the money is well worth it now.

If you are making multiple purchases a month I can see the appeal, But it's not great value for me, I don't really get what all the fuss is about.

Then again I'm quite happy to wait a week or two for non essential items.

Same. The time frame isn't ever really am issue. If I order Sunday it often makes no odds to me whether it comes Monday or Friday

And of course you have substantial evidence to back these claims up

Or just another famous unsubstantiated rant where you forgot to add IMO :D

Just going on personal findings.

My partners father was tricked into signing up for it and also my line manager at work.

I'm pretty certain they are unlikely to be isolated cases. It's a pretty aggressive and underhand marketing scheme to put it lightly.

Why were they tricked when they knew when the trial period ends?

The news that Clarkson, Hammond and May are coming to Prime makes anyone who thought it wasn't worth it wrong! Not that it wasn't worth it before!

Just cancelled my Netflix account, hello Primetime :D

I've just had a look at Netflix pricing, compared to what Amazon offer.

I got the email in may '14, telling about the change in price and the freeze for what I pay for a guaranteed 2 years. I currently pay £5.99 a month for Netflix, which brings it to £71.88 PA.

Now next year, the new price will affect all subscribers, making my subscription go to £6.99. This will push the cost a good bit to paying £83.88 PA.

If Amazon is only £79, that already looks like the better deal, no? Video on-demand, Free next day delivery? Anything else?

The only factor would be what is being shown on either side for video on-demand. If the same titles can be found across both, it makes more sense to be on Amazon? I pay for Unblock-US also to get more out of Netflix, so I currently get to view a good range, but I'm wondering if it's really worth it now.

Does the video on-demand have limits though? You can get the amazon video subscription for just over £70. For an extra £10, it looks too good to be true, to then receive all them additional bonuses?

Well my partners father who is 74 was not immediately aware they were going to take £79+ a year for all eternity after the trial ended. It doesn't make it immediately obvious. Luckily he realised in time and cancelled. Also, it is so very easy to sign up, it gives you about 5 opportunities to do so when buying anything. An accidental click in the wrong place and you're on the hook.

My Mum opted in for Prime and forgot to cancel it, she called Amazon a couple of days after she was charged and they refunded it.

So he wasn't tricked at all but instead didn't read to what he was agreeing with.
