Changes coming to Amazon Prime

was going to order some speakers ..... they are in stock ... delivery at no extra cost for prime members

larger items so I guess just means not next day ... fine

but delivery estimate on check-out ...

Does it say they are instock without any indication of wait time? Normally if they are available on Prime and have the Prime symbol, it should say order within xx to receive next day delivery.
 
they are B212XL Speakers

sometimes just say In Stock - dispatched from and sold by Amazon - other times gives number in stock

but each time gives weird delivery dates

No what the real problem is that huge companies like Amazon use legal loopholes to pay minimum tax in the UK by being based abroad. But it's the crime of the century to tip a delivery driver a pound or two after they have performed the service in the normal tipping manner.

I'm not saying there is anything wrong with tipping. Amazon don't evade taxes. Nor would their evasion make anyone else's okay.

But this attitude is wrong. It is exactly this logic which results in an untaxed grey economy where everything is done in cash.

Shock horror, money being earned for doing a job is being taxed.

You then have the nerve to try and belittle people who point out it is evasion and wrong.

Anyway, just had another delivery. They really need to invest in smaller sized bags. Big bag just to hold a single tub of butter. Seems like a massive waste to me.

Perhaps someone will need to start a thread to keep track of good deals.

There's one category of item i'm always amazed to see sold out - Alcohol.

Doesn't matter if it's spirits, wine or beer, everyone seems to purchase the alcohol sales, the idea of filling the liquor cabinet with cheep booze!
 
Whats a prime day? Is that like the black friday deals, where retailers wheel out the cheap **** like the Luxor/Polaroid TVs folk were fighting over in ASDA for..?

The wife has started a free trial. Still took 3 days to get her monitor though so nothing has changed since the last trial. What has changed is the tv part. The movie selection is abysmal now and all the decent films you have to pay extra for. There's only 4 tv shows that we are interested in as well. Pretty poor for what they are wanting you to pay.
 
Having had Prime for a good while, and recently getting Netflix through a Virgin contract, I think they're pretty equal to be honest. There's just 'some' movies worth watching on both, and 'some' TV shows worth watching.

Nice segue to my question actually. I'm now signed up as a 'full' Prime member (I used to get Prime Video free through work) and when I logged in last night I had a message saying Prime members get up to 50% off Prime video rentals. Anyone know anything about this? Does it show on the prices displayed on the FireTV or what? :confused:

If the TV took 3 days and was meant to be next day she can complain, and that will usually result in another free moth ;)
 
I've had Amazon Prime now for about a month and I have to say I'm really disappointed with the movie library. As a Sky user and someone who has been with Sky for about 10 years, you just can't beat their movie library. If I try searching for a movie on Sky I can find it for free... switch over to Amazon and they want to charge me. I don't think I've watched a single movie on Amazon yet. I was hoping to be able to ditch sky completely after my 1/2 price deal runs out, but I'm really not sure now.

However their TV series are great. Can't fault that.

who knows, but I imagine people will call it tat. people see sales in the wrong light, and expect massive discounts. when what it should be is looking for stuff you wanted for a while and being the cheapish it's been.



how to some people have such problems with deliveries taking days, do you live in Australia or something?
always comes same day or next day.

99% tat but then what is tat to you might be gold to some people. People often forget their customer base is larger than the geeks of OCUK.
