Changing a 8 and 6 pin gpu to 2 x 8 pin

I am changing my gpu and the new one has 2 x 8 pin requirements.

Is it simply a case of plugging another 8 pin into the modular psu I have

Yes it is. If your PCI-E power connectors have 2 8-pins on each lead only use one on each though.

I have an Antec 750 modular psu. In the box I have found 2 leads one says psu on one end with gpu on the other. The other has psu and 2 x 8 pin pci e at the end.

Is it best to use separate rails for each 8 pin power or can I use the one lead which has the 2 8 pin connectors at the end

If changing from one nvidea gpu to another nvidea gpu will I need to do anything to get the PC to recognise the new gpuy

I have a ryzen cpu so can't plug a display into that to update driver etc
