Is this possible? The network coverage where I am is literraly next to nothing and as a consequence I am unable to use the phone. When there is coverage it is momentarily going from one bar to out of srvice area messages the next. I looked at the terms and conditions of the sale and it quotes using the sim as acceptance of the contract:( Only had the phone yesterday :(

Edit: Duped by claim of good network coverage 4 the area :( (Orange).

you still get a couple of weeks to return it though?

I read that but their disclaimers lists unused as a means of return. Also purchased online. Thanks

If you got it online you shoul dbe able to return it under the distance selling act. Give you 7 days to return an item. Mail them and let them know you are going to do it then get it in the post ASAP.

Dont even need the DSR as you have at least seven days cooling off period on signing of such contracts so just say you're invoking this right and return everything.

Been in touch with orange and they say there is some work going on the local mast(s) and repairs should be completed in 48 hours. Whether I believe this is another matter but it won't hurt to give them another 48 hours (I hope?). I have contacted the online retailer to explain I'll give them 48 hours but the retailer has asked for me to request a signal fault code before conducting any possible exchange. Presumably this would be the norm or passing the buck?

as vertigo said, you have a cooling off period. Don't let this expire.....if you still feel unhappy, return it all for a full refund.

Actually there isnt a cooling off period. Thats a myth! Some retailers used to offer this years ago, but its not law.

Distance selling is the only thing you can use. However most networks will also give in if reception is really bad, as you can technically say they are not able to provide you the service you are paying for.
