Changing a table lamp from b22 to e27

Hi. Slowly getting into these smart bulbs. Got a nice table lamp we like in the lounge but it is b22 fitting ( bayonet) I want to swap it for e27 fitting as got some philips hue colour bulbs.

What’s the name of the bit that I need to change? Is it straight forward and can I get these at screwfix/ B&Q etc?

I know you can get the b22 to e27 adapters but no good in this situation as the shade then would not fit as would be too high

It's just called a lamp holder.

two of my table lamps you cannot change from B22, the molded bulb holder has special molding to enable it to be gripped into lamp, so a std dangling pendant will not work,
so adapter was the only way.

You can buy adaptors, have a quick Google!

If you don't want to worry about wiring the lamp holder (and getting it wrong, it's easy but essential line/neutral are correctly terminated) and would prefer to replace the pendant then from Screwfix : https://www.screwfix.com/p/british-general-6-pendant-es-white/963fg

You won't need the 3 plate ceiling rose, just unscrew and replace the pendant.

Cheers. All sorted now. Also changed the brown shades to white/ cream. Much better with the Philips hue bulbs.

Took the bayonet lamp fitting out and from a local electrical factors. Managed to source a silver / chrome E27 lamp fitting.

All fine now.
