Changing Admin Passworrd (not mine! the safe mode one)

Hello

I throw away an old copy of pc format where it told you how to change the administator password (the administrator when you boot up in safe mode, the one that doesnt show up in control panel>user accounts) you can change it using cmd but i have forgotten what the command is?? anyone able to help??

you can change it the normal way, just log in in safe mode and do it.

Tried Start>Run>User passwords2 ?

That should show the Admin.

that command does nothing on xp home i just tried it.

works on xp home too

no it doesn;t, the PC I'm using now has XP home on it, that brings up 'Windows cannot find userpasswords2'

I have used this to great effect many times. I assume you can burn an iso on another machine

I would set the password to blank, and then log in and chage it back to whatever you want.

there is an app to do this on ultimate boot disk
