Normally my ADSL line syncs at about 3.5Mbps. But last night there was a lot of noise on the line for some reason and it connected at 160kbps. As a result the speed of my connection has dropped to 128k!

I know you normally have to wait 3 days for BT to update your profile to match your line speed (which is now 3616kbps). But is there any way to force a quicker refresh? My connection is twice the speed of dial-up and three days of this will drive me insane!

They've done it in three days before, so I can but hope. When my brother gets home from school and my dad from work, this is really gonna chug.

Maybe I'll seed some torrents as my upload is currently three times my download :p

Hi

No the ISP does not have direct control over the BRAS if you are on a BTW Max service and you may have to wait for the 3 days.

However if you line is normally stable then it MAY update quicker as BT have a susyem called Blip Logic that is meant to update the profile quicker if it is normally stable and there has only been one drop in the sync rate.

Again however this being BT the Blip Logic does not always work.
