Hi

The router supplied to me by Be is a rebadged Thomspon ST 585v6 running Be's firmware.

How can I put the standard Thompson firmware on this (which I have d/l from Thompson's site). I can't see any options in the settings to allow me to upgrade firmware?

Thanks

think you need either additional software or it gets run through the setup....i cant remember and it wasnt that long ago i did it.
i do remember it wasnt as good though so i changed back.

if you're having problems with the bebox id get another router for cheap like an ex-sky dg834gt
i had the speedtouch 780 bebox, it kept dropping connections and needed a restart every now and then. switched over to the 834gt and got 2 extra meg off of the line and now my connection is rock solid.

i tries upgrading to the latest 780 firmware from thompson using the upgrade wizard thing but it didnt change much, so i also went back to the original be firmware.

The bebox is the property of Be and if you tampered with it they could charge you for it (small possibility) and/or remove their broadband service (remote possibility). Also if you have any problems with your connection, they'll expect a bebox at your end as there is (AFAIK) a special admin mode that they can access.

You need the firmware upgrade tool from the Thomson website (trust me, it's there) simply run that and it's step by step.

It won't have the Be templates though so it will need setting up manually to get it to work with them.

I use a Netgear with my Be connection. I was going to give the BEbox to someone who doesn't have BE which is why I wanted to change the firmware.

Thanks for the info.
