Ok i've reached the end of my contract with O2 and want to get a new phone. As Im a very low user I wont be able to get the phone I want on O2 (k800i) so am going to get a new contract. I just want to know how i go about getting one. How much notice do i need to give O2 to cancel my original contract and is there any way i can keep my number? I assume I will have to give about 1 months notice and then order the new contract say the day before the end of the ending one?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks :)

You need a PAC code if you want to keep your number, which you will have to ask O2 for. This also means you have to change networks - you can't start a new contract and stay with O2 and keep your number, unfortunately.

After your 12 months has expired, O2 will just keep charging you the same per month. You're no longer in a 12 month contract, and you can leave anytime after the 12 months is up, as far as I'm aware.

I believe most networks will give you a refund on line rental not used in the month you leave, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

slightly wrong there.. if you have a online o2 contract you can get a brand new contract from the o2 high street and keep your number; takes a week to transfer and they give you a temp number for that week

Hmm ok thanks guys. I'm on my 13th month at the moment so i can liteally ring up and cancel for the next day then? (or similar) I got my contract through buymobilephones.net, i assume that the same as a highstreet shop in terms of keeping the number as i will be going through someone similar depending on who has the best deal at the time?
