Thismight be discussed elsewhere - i did try a quick search but im needing an answer quick (kwant to insert cpu etc and let the thermal set over night..prob not needed to do but hey ho...)

Basically swapping my CPU from dual core to quad core. To do this ive had to flash my mobo (AM2+ to AM3).

Now can i just switch off..change cpu and power up and its all automatically. or anyway i can help the process (reset bios?) and if i reset it will it keep the new bios settings i just flashed it with.

Hope this makes sense and someone can help quick!

was you cpu overclocked before? if not, then just check everything on auto in the bios or even load defaults then switch off, change the cpu and power up

Nope, you will still have the latest BIOS but it will reset all parameters to default.

Wahey it worked..had a few dodgy seconds installs windows 7 - took an AGE for some reason.

All good now thou!

Mobo is GA-M720-US3
Old Pro - Athlon 64 Dual core 7850 (2.8)
