Hi guys,

I ordered the components listed above this weekend, and will be replacing them this week.

Will I have to reinstall Win7 to get the best out of them, or do you reckon Windows now properly manages all of that?

I remember a while ago I had to replace my motherboard and Win7 just detected it, installed the drivers and ran smoothly from there onwards.

Just wanted to check if that'd be the case when changing 3 massive components.

Cheers!

If you are switching motherboard chipsets then I personally would do a fresh install of Windows, it doesn't take long either.

Installing Win7 doesn't, but installing everything else will take a while :/

I'm going from a Gigabyte board with a Q6600 CPU, to another Gigabyte board (Z77 D3H) with an i5 3570k on it.

Its a different chipset and there is different drivers for the onboard audio/usb/sata etc.

Just do a nice fresh install and grab the latest drivers for all the parts.

True. I forgot about all the other components :)

Since I'm installing from scratch, would you recommend Win7 or Win8?
I have licenses for both, but haven't installed win8 yet

Ive not really touched Win8 and don't see the need to, Win7 does everything I want, stable as a rock and just works.
