Hey All,

I am looking at buying a new laptop and there is a bargain on that well known auction site but it has a Intel Pentium Dual Core whereas I want an Intel Core Duo.

Will there be a huge difference in performance between the two and how hard would it be to change the cpu on this laptop and has anyone ever done it before.

Its a Dell Inspiron 6400.

Thanks a lot,

Sam

I dont think this is possible. However, it is, i'd like to know as well.

Dont know if you will be able to do this because of imcompatible chipsets. best bet is to go into the BIOS and find out the exact model of the processor your currently running and just look for CPU's which are in the same family.

But knowing Dell they don't like you to upgrade anything so your probably stuck with the Pentium 4/D family
