Changing cpu & watercooling?

Hi All,

Recieved a nice bit of kit from Santa for xmas and really itching to get it installed!

However I am waiting on a cpu delivery I bought but still hasnt arrived!

To change over do you need to drain the system or is it possible to undo the cou block and change the cpus over?

Is there enough pipe length to enable the block to be removed without draining, I tend to do this when I need to change my cpu.
 
I have like 4 metres of the stuff! Will be cooling the nb also.

Do you need to drain it only if there is a short amount of piping?
 
well cant do anything now anyway, parents lost the barbs (or ocuk didnt send them!) dont know which it was but nevermind!

Never know the new cpu may turn up in the mean time!

As an addition to what's been said above it's always a good idea to install all your blocks with the bolts pointing forwards. (aka insert through the back of the board/backplate) Many blocks, especally older ones, the retention hardware works front to back so the bolts need removing prior to removing the block (major drag imho)

Highly recomment setting up a waterloop that does not need draining to upgrade hardware even if you do use a little more tubing.

Back to front cpu block
M4 bolt/backplate/paper washer/mobo/nylon washer/locking nut/usually a space/block/nylon washer/spring/nylon washer/thumb turn nut

Back to front NB/SB block
M3 bolt/metal washer/nylon washer/mobo/nylon washer/locking nut/usually a space/block/nylon washer/spring/nylon washer/thumb turn nut
