How difficult is it to remove the current CPU on my motherboard and replace it with a new one? If the new chip fits the socket, are there any other compatibilty things I should be aware of?

Its very easy just remove the old and in with the new.

Just make sure your old CPU/heatsink is powerfull to cool your new CPU.

Also if you used the heatpaste that was pre applied on your CPU/heatsink you will most likely have to clean that up and apply some new paste.

Post current motherboard model and the chip you want to put in and what heatsink you want to put on and im sure there is someone wh can advise...
