changing CPU

Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could help me with a problem i have.. Well i'm planning to upgrade my processor, its an athlon64 3500+ socket939, to an athlon 64 X2 4400+. If i change my processor, will i need to install hte windows OS? and reinstall everything again?

You may need to flash the bios though.

i dnt get it? sorry, im quite new to this, how do you flash a bios?

What mobo is it?

And what version bios are you running?

My motherboard is an Asus A8N VM

BIOS Version American Megatrends inc. 0110 22/12/2005
SMBIOS Version 2.3

Look on the ASUS site and find out which is the latest bios version for tht mobo.

It will tell you allyou needto know.
