I coudn't seem to find the rates in amsterdam but do you get more if you change pounds to euros there? or better off doing it in london?

Eitherway wont have time tomorrow morning to..unless its at gatwick airport..which probably isnt good?

It was only a few weeks ago I exchanged cash as well as withdrawing from an ATM, and it was cheaper ordering online and collecting from sainsburys than it was withdrawing while abroad. Santander isn't as expensive as some banks either.

Ideally you'd have a card that offers free withdrawals at the VISA rate, but currency exchange can easily beat some banks if you don't have one so if you have the time it's worth comparing first.

Pre-book online with Travelex and pick up at the airport = good rate (not always the very best, but close) and convenient. :)

Sainsbury's rate is better than Travelex

Visa is better than both of them but dependent on the charges your bank/card provider adds...

while not brilliant it's a decent rate if you do this, ATM in AMS a good idea, be careful of changing out there, a lot of scam bureaux
