Changing date on a picture file

Long story short ... my camera somehow set itself to the 4th Sept while taking a few pictures the other day. Needless to say, this has messed up a few things in terms of ordering, and I was wondering if there was any way to change the files' timestamps now they're on the computer. All seems pretty locked down to me, but thought I'd ask anyway!

I'm pretty sure you can change the date, and lots of other information, simple via Windows Explorer. Seems possible in Windows 7 anyway.

Never mind ... I've just solved it using the 'touch' command in terminal. Did the trick nicely

That changes the timestamp of the file... does it change the date in the EXIF information, I'm not sure that it does....?

To the fix the exif there's exiftool or A Better Finder Rename/Attributes.
