Changing disk in a Dell Mini 9

You can only swap them with mini pci-e ssd's, and then only the reduced size ones.

I've been doing a lot of research into this for mine and the accepted view is the Runcore SSD's are the best performing in read/write speed but they are expensive. Slightly cheaper and nearly as well performing are the Buffalo drives, with STEC and Crucial pulling up the rear. I'd really avoid the Crucial drive unless you have no other options as the read/write speeds are dire on them.

Quick question along the same lines...how can I free up space on my mini 9? All I have installed is XP Home, Firefox, Chrome, Winamp and Avast AV and I've only got 1Gb to spare. Is this typical?

Is it possible to install and run applications from a fast SDHC card? This would be the cheapest way of adding capacity for running programs.

Actually you can buy PCIe to ZIF adapters which would let you plug in a 1.8" laptop drive.

I don't however know if this would fit in the dell. But as said I'd just buy a faster SSD and/or external hdd 2.5" caddy for storage if needed.
