I purchased a domain over a year ago and have updated the details with the host (one.com in this case) but when I check on whois.com it is still registered to the person I purchased it off.

Can anyone tell me how to get the details updated? My host are particularly unhelpfull sadly!

When you say host, you mean the registrar (which may also be the host)?
When did you update the details?
What does the registrar admin panel list as your details?

Not sure if I mean registrar or host? Everything is stored on one.com's servers I believe and when I go into their control panel they have my new details down there under the billing and admin section.

However when I lookup the domain ising whois it still shows the previous owners details and address.

Ive just checked the dates and it was almost 2 years ago now, just assumed one.com would have updated everything?

Not sure if that makes total sense but let me know either way, thanks.

Does the whois information say anything about the registrar? It may be one.com but it sounds like you are accessing a hosting panel rather than a registrar panel. You should have access to change your whois information, but it won't come from a billing section. It will be specifically for whois.

Is it a top level generic or .uk?

Top levels such as .com/net/org are simple to change through your registrar but .uk's you have to pay Nominet to transfer ownership.
