I want to move from apple, I fancy a change and the cost of changing is far less than the apple upgrade path. I want to change both my phone and tablet.

Also I don't want to go much larger than my 4s. I'm thinking of getting a SG4 mini. Now I know little of phone specs and in the store it seemed quick enough. In real use with plenty loaded on will this at least match my 4s for speed?

Any better options?

Tablet wise I'd like something with a decent screen the size of the regular ipad and with 3g/4g. I have no idea where to start looking with android tablets :D

Imho moto g is better than s4 mini, are you sure about the size issue as most of the best androids are nice and big for media consumption.

Yep I have no use for a larger phone, the small and equally as fast as my 4S is what I'm looking for. That and cheaper to replace if I break it at work.

Nexus 5 for phone
Nexus 7/10 for tablet
Nexus for Christmas dinner

Nexus 5 is huge if the pictures I have googled are correct. As I said I want smaller form factor not a wheelie bin lid in my pocket :)

IMO tablet wise go for the xperia tablet z or the galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition.

Thanks I will take a look at the note. I take it Android devices are easy to back up on computer?

Nexus 5 is identical to the iPhone 5 size, which isn't much bigger than the iPhone 4S, so size wise you wouldn't really notice anything major.

The Nexus 5 is over a 1 cm bigger in each direction than the iphone 5 and the iphone 5 is bigger than I want to go.

After a look around today I think I'm set on a Galaxy Note 10.1 and a S4 mini. Thanks for the options. None of the stores I looked in had a 4g version in though, is one coming?

Might aswell get use to bigger phones. I bet the iP5 has a larger screen. Might aswell get on the bandwagon now.

Clearly there is still a market for people like me as they make smaller phones too.

What stores did you look at? On the CPW site there's a big 4G logo on top of the picture of the phone, and on P4U there's 4G tariffs connected to it.

Sorry my post wasn't clear, I meant 3G/4g for the tablet :)
