Changing from Canon to Nikon

Ah. How'd you find the WiFi? I find it a bit laggy personally. I had to be shooting from watching the scene rather than through the actual iPhone live view. Also found live view focus a bit slow for wildlife, not sure how it 'd work with weddings.

Also, how's the 70-200F4 for weddings? Surely you could benefit from wider app?

Yeh the wifi is well laggy and to be honest I would hate to rely on it but thought I would give it a go.

Thought about the 2.8 70-200mm but it bloody heavy and my 70-200 at f4 is so sharp I would never sell it. Personally it the best lens I have ever used even though it only cost me £300 :D

I went from Nikon to Canon

2 years ago I had a Nikon D3 with the 3 kings 14-24 24-70 70-200mm all 2.8 and a 85mm 1.4 + 50mm 1.4G

Sold it all and purchased a Canon 5dMk2 and a sigma 50mm f1.4 and it was the best thing I ever did. Spent far to much time swapping lens and not enough time taking pictures.

wtf..

Actually the best thing you could have done is sell all those lenses except the 70-200 and bought a 35mm 1.4.

I can't see the logic whatsoever...

When I read Willi's post, the first thing that popped into my mind was how you are confused, scratching your head and then explode like a cartoon lol

At the time I wanted video and a smaller body and the 5dmk2 was a good solution as Nikon did not offer one at the time. Shooting with just 1 lens was a breath of fresh air for the stuff I was shooting at the time. ;)

You could do the the same (shoot eth 1 lens) with the Nikon and just buy the sigma 50 in f-mount, or better yet but the optically superior, cheaper, lighter, smaller Nikon 50mm f1.4. No video on the D3 mind.;)

Some times people do things without any rational reason :)

I know s e people who purchased a 5dmk2 to get resolution on the cheap because the D3x was the the price of a car. Then the ad800 came out with far better image wall sort and resolution at a third of the price an they promptly swapped back!

I've given my reason ?

Like I have said twice before in thread I was consumed with the gear and not enough about the subject, I also wanted Full HD Video and a smaller body which Nikon did not have.

I think people forget there was a time when the 5d mkii was king of the heap and was easily the best DSLR for video available, it seems so long ago that video came to DSLR that i'm even starting to forget the rantings of the anti -video and liveview crew who were adamant canon would never implement such technology in a 1d model!
