Changing Graphics Card - Reinstall Windows

Hi Folks,

I've done a search but not turned up anything helpful.

I'm building up a new rig at the moment i7 on Gigabyte U3 board with Patriot 6GB RAM.

I'm waiting on a 5850 (isn't everyone) in the meantime I have a crummy old GFX card from some machine, I am thinking of using this to get the rig up and running with windows installed progs ready etc.

When the new card arrives is it alright to swap install new drivers and go or is my registry going to be full of rubbish from the old card.

I don't really want to bother if a reinstall is the way to go.

Unistall drivers,
Turn pc off and remove/add graphics card
Turn pc back on and install drivers

Good to go

if you have a uninstaller program use one of them they will clear the left over files on your computer!

Use something like drivercleaner after you uninstall.

It will help to clean any traces.
