Changing HDD & adding Ram??

I have just bought a used HP DV6 series laptop which has Vista installed but i want to put a new HDD in it and install Win7. The relavent drivers ara available for download so i don't expect any issues but i have never changed a laptop HDD before or added RAM to one.

Is this an easy enough job as i have never worked on a laptop before.

dead easy, unscrew the panel on the base that has the hd symbol or is hd sized, disconnect the old hd from the cable, take it out the metal caddy, install new hd, ram just pops out by pressing the little tabs outwards, insert new ram by putting it in the slot at 45 degree angle and gently press it down till it locks in.

If you are worried just check the odd video on youtube first, but if you have ever put a PC together yourself, you shouldn't have any trouble with it, it's dead simple.
