Changing Hotend where do you put the thermal paste ?

Looking to change the hotend on my printer for an all metal one and I've seen thermal paste mentioned in the videos and also in the guides but no picture or on the video where you actually apply it.
Some dont even apply it at all.

Is it applied to the heatbreak on the threads before you screw it in to the heater block ?
